Hi, I am having problems connecting my laptop wirelessly with the rest of the network. I searched the FAQs, DLink Forum and Google, but there's nothing. Here's the setup: Host computer: XP Home SP2 connected to DI-624C then the DSL modem. Laptop: Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600, Win XP Pro SP2. Laptop wireless card: DLink WNA-2330 802.11g, 108 Mbps, H/W:A1, F/W:1.10. I inserted the CD from the box in the laptop and installed the driver (version 1.10), then chose to use DLink setup instead of Win XP. Then I inserted the WNA-2330 adapter card in the laptop.

I followed the screen prompts but still unable to get this to work. The laptop screen shows solid connection but I cannot access any web site. Flushing DNS cache didn't work. I then uninstall the 1.10 driver which came with the CD, removed the card, rebooted the laptop and repeat the procedure using the latest driver 1.01 from DLink site. Curiously, the driver version from DLink web site is 1.01 whereas that of the CD is 1.10.

Could anyone direct me to the correct driver? Could Atheros driver be the one to install instead? I would much appreciate your help! Funchords, peter m, Jim F, tqhoang?

DLink Tech Support Level 2 in their wisdom advised me today that I should install their latest driver version 1.01, but I already did this last night and still no go! I got DLink Config Utility but no Activate button, and nothing happens after I enter the passphrase. I now have 2 questions: 1) Since WNA-2330 card has the 3 Atheros driver files, i.e.

AR5211.sys, net5211.inf and net 5211.cat, which Atheros driver file should I download, and where to locate it? I am thinking of ditching DLink Utility in favour of Atheros'. 2) Device Manager shows the following devices, exactly: i) Network Adapter: Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection ii) PCMCIA adapters: Texas Instrument PCI-1410 Cardbus Controller, Toshiba ToPIC100 Cardbus Controller, Toshiba ToPIC100 Cardbus Controller.

Which of these devices should be disabled? I would appreciate your help. Lizzi555, It worked!

Thanks a lot for your help and the link. I am sending you this reply wirelessly. I should also point out the following for the benefit of anyone who is reading this and needs to install WNA-2330 wireless adapter card: 1) I disabled Intel Pro network adapter via Device Manager. 2) I left alone the other card bus controllers. 3) Download and install WNA2330 driver version 1.01 from DLink website. You will see 2 folders: Driver & Setup. 4) During installation of Atheros driver and ACU files, you will be asked for ar5211.sys file.

Point to the above WNA2330Driver101 folder (the other folder is WNA2330 Setup Folder which you should not touch, since its icon looks similar to Atheros's Setup Folder). Insert the WNA2330 wireless card when prompted. 4) Click the ACU icon on your desktop to configure the wireless link to your access point or router. With the drivers that came out of the D-link box, I was able to set up the WNA-2330 with my Sony Vaio running Win2k Pro quite effortlessly. However, the link would drop every few minutes.

Parallels updates desktop for mac

When I say link, the IP address assigned to the VAIO on the local LAN (192.168.x.x) would be lost, although signal strength was max. I tried quite a few different things and nothing worked and that was until I read lizzi555's post. The Atheros Client utility works superb! I have had no problems of the link dropping, now that I have that installed. I can pull my card out, restart my laptop and do just about anything and the connection comes up perfect after that (after a reboot or re-enable or whatever the case might be) and stay connected for hours on end, without my having to do an 'ipconfig /renew'. Thanks lizzi555!
